The Oregon Flying Fun series made its annual stop on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Bill Riegel Model Air Park. It was cold, windy and rainy, so most of the 15 attendees headed to the Flight Deck Restaurant next door to the flying field, and enjoyed a warm breakfast and lots of modeling conversation. Because of the impending loss of the Salem field for construction of a parking lot, 2023's rained-out event was likely the last attempt at an organized CL activity at Bill Riegel Model Air Park. We will miss it! Attending were Terrance Bardue, Jim Cameron, Mark Crouse, Jim Corbett, Mike Denlis, Mike Hazel, Dave La Fever, Steve Lindstedt, Niels Madsen, Leighton Mangels, Gene Pape, Doug Powers, Dave Royer, John Thompson and Gary Weems. The event was intended to be jointly sponsored by WOLF and the Eugene Prop Spinners.

Turnout was sparse for the two summer fun-flies held at Bill Riegel Field, designed to promote a little "Sunday flying" activity between oranized events. Those who showed up did have fun flying, though, and that's what it's all about. Pictured are Mike Hazel (left) with Banshee and Gerald Schamp with nearly finished Chief, seen at the Aug. 2 event.
