Oregon Flying Fun No. 2 — 2026

Church on the Rise, Roseburg, Ore., Feb. 7

Oregon control-line fliers had a pleasant day of flying and socializing at the traditional Roseburg stop in the Oregon Flying Fun series. Weather was almost windless under cloudy skies; only a few sprinkles fell during the event.

The Roseburg area CL fliers did their usual fine job of hosting the fun-fly, providing a tasty lunch under the direction of chef Mark Schluter and a fine array of door prizes including several complete airplanes and quite a few usable engines. Flying was done on the nicely mowed grass circle and on an asphalt parking lot suitable for small airplanes.

Those attending included Michael Cook, Mark Crouse, Mike Hazel, Walter Hicks, Bob Lewis, Terry Mitchell, Bil Mix, Gene Pape, John Olsen, Stan Olzaski, Alan Rader, Mark Schluter, John Thompson and Gary Weems, and some others whose names were not recorded.

Next up in the Oregon Flying Fun series is No. 3, in Salem, Ore., on March 28, hosted by the Western Oregon Control-Line Flyers. See Where the Action Is for details.
