Northwest racer Tom Knoppi dies

Tom Knoppi, a longtime Northwest control-line modeler who participated in the CL World Championships in racing, died on Nov. 18, 2020. He was 83.

Tom, of Seattle, Wash., was an active CL modeler until he was paralyzed in an auto accident in 1990. After that, he remained interested in the hobby and occasionally visited contests. He is the father of active CL competitor John Knoppi.
