Influential CL flier and author Dan Rutherford dies


Dan Rutherford, a longtime control-line competitor, author and influencer, died Feb. 14 at his home in Bothell, Wash.

Dan competed in Combat, Racing and Aerobatics, as well as in radio control pylon racing and car racing.  He was a longtime control-line columnist for Model Builder magazine and also wrote "The Real Dirt" column in Flying Lines print newsletters and this website. He designed a number of successful Combat planes and for some time imported engines and other equipment.
