The process of putting Flying Lines on the web has been a frantic and educational process. It started with a fairly simple idea and quickly grew into a complex task. It's been fun and I've learned a lot
We've tried to make Flying Lines on the web similar to the venerable printed FL newsletter. But there are major, and, we think, wonderful differences.
One difference is that Flying Lines, the hard-copy, is printed and mailed nine times a year. The web site, on the other hand, functions more like your daily newspaper. If you visit the site daily, you will see daily changes.
We've included all the features of the hard-copy FL, but also added some new features. Browsing the table of contents will lead you to some of the features. Another great thing about the web site is that it will serve as its own archive no need to hunt through your shelves or filing cabinet to find an article from the past; it will still be linked on the web site.
As with the printed, copy, we're expecting that the newsletter will be a joint effort of all Pacific Northwest modelers and early indications are that we won't be disappointed. Yes indeed, things are being contributed steadily for inclusion on the web site.
If you have sent the editor something for inclusion on the web site, and haven't seen it there yet, don't worry; it's coming. Your editor is trying to maintain a little modeling life (and real life) along with the web site, so change to the site will be incremental. They'll occur daily, but more or less one at a time. If I did everything I want to do with the site all at once, it would be a fantastic site right now and I'd be dead of exhaustion. So, stay tuned. Your contributions will appear on the site soon.
If you haven't contributed, there's an open invitation: Please do! We'll take articles, photos, columns, club news, anything you have to offer!
Just like with the printed newsletter, FL is your web site. Enjoy and participate!
