2014 Nearly 1/2-A Fun Stunt Event

The 2014 version of the Vancouver Gas Model Club's NEARLY 1/2A FUN STUNT EVENT has come and gone with a couple of new award winners.

The entry level was down slightly because of a local aviation event that several of our members attended, but we still had a good turnout. The weather cooperated with mostly sunny skies and light winds for most of the day.

We had Mustangs, hurricanes, spitfires, corsairs, a P38, and several navy planes as well. We had 2 crashes, the P38 did what it did last year and one of the other models decided to dive straight into the runway. All the other flights were successful including one doing a figure 8 as his maneuver of choice, not bad for a small low powered model, which helped carry him into first place.

First place went to Denis Cousineau
Second place went to Henry Hajdik
Third place went to Barrie Shandel

Most entertaining flight went to John Cousineau.

This is turning into a fun and popular event and next year I expect to see two or three more entrants; time will tell.
