the Eagle Point fun fly. Flying Lines photos.
The Oregon Flying Fun series of one-day events returned
to the Rogue Eagles RC
club's control-line circle on a perfect day for
flying CL airplanes — mild temperature, mostly sunny
skies and a light breeze.
At least 10 CL fliers were on hand along with a few
guests from the RC runway across the parking lot.
Flying was continuous from before 10 a.m. until around 2
p.m. A tasty KFC lunch was provided and there was a
generous table of door prizes so that everyone took home
something worth having.
A wide variety of sport, Stunt and Scale planes were
flown. As fun-flies always do, the event attracted many
unusual and nostalgic planes of types not seen on the
normal contest circuit.
Among those attending were Tony Dallas, Roger Hebner,
Walter Hicks, Chuck Jenks, Guy Laine, Mike Massey,
Marshall Palmer, John Thompson, Richard Schwegal and
Jess Walls.

spacious shade canopy.
Walter Hicks provided some nostalgia by
flying a pristine Cox PT-19 trainer, the plane that many
CL fliers made their first successful flights on in the
1950s and 1960s.

Richard Schwegal's .010-powered
